Game Rules

These are the Official Game Rules of Sukoshi Ishi that will be used in regular tournaments!

Preparation
1. Each player selects five Sukoshi Ishi of the same color. The players then make sure that their Sukoshi Ishi color does not match their opponent's.
2. Each player sets up their Sukoshi Ishi in an arrangement to avoid them from being knocked off of the play area. They must stay on their side.
3. The players play ONE round of Rock-Paper-Scissors to determine who goes first.

Play
1. The player who wins the Rock-Paper-Scissors game goes first.
2. Player one picks one Sukoshi Ishi to launch at his opponent's. He slides it across the table.
-If player one knocks his opponent's Sukoshi Ishi out of the area of play, it is removed from the game.
-If player one's Sukoshi Ishi falls out of the area of play, it is removed from the game.
-If player one's Sukoshi Ishi remains in the area of play, he may put it anywhere on his side.
3. Play goes to player two, who does the same thing.
4. Play alternates until only one player's Sukoshi Ishi are left in the area of play.
Note: Throwing is NOT allowed

Variations
Players may play in teams, doubling the Sukoshi Ishi and alternating from one team to the other.

Players may double the Sukoshi Ishi to make a bigger game.

On a square area of play, players may play with up to four players, following the same rules as normal play but with a Rock-Paper-Scissors "tournament" to determine who goes first. Play goes to the right after that, no matter who got second place.
